Another year with a positive balance sheet for the Kendwa Maternity Clinic in Zanzibar, supported by the Rinaldo Gasparini Foundation and Renco Company. The gynaecological clinic directed by Hawa Kivembele continues to play an important role in the health of the population of Zanzibar, a role recognised at government level.

The clinic’s numbers continue to progress, with 485 births per year in 2021, compared to an average of 200 per year in the previous decade.  Above all, there has been an increase of paediatric first aid intervention (19,000 compared to 17,000 of the previous year) and maternal and child health services, which have risen from 5,600 to 8,600 in one year.
